Article Submission/Editorial Guidelines

The following guidelines serve to assist you in properly submitting your articles to Eco-Articles.com, thereby saving you and us time and energy. It will help you understand what we accept and don't accept.

1. Article Submission

a. Submitting your articles to us is free.

b. Before submitting your article, please make sure that your article has not been previously submitted.

c. Submitting multiple copies of the same article using different titles, or with only slight modifications is strictly forbidden, one copy of the same information is enough!

d. Submit to only ONE relevant category per article. Submissions to multiple categories will result in ALL your articles being removed, and in extreme and repeated cases, refusal of future submissions.

2. Article Content

For your article to be accepted and published at Eco-Articles.com, the article:

a. Must be original and authored by you. Articles that are ghost-written or bought is acceptable if you are the ONLY ONE that has sole and full copyrights to it.

b. Must be informative. Your article should serve to educate and inform rather than just a promotional piece.

c. Must be grammatically correct. Articles that are full of grammatical errors will not be accepted.

d. Must not be offensive. Articles must not promote hate, racism, pornography, hacking, and other illegal and/or offensive activities.

e. Must not contain direct affiliate links. Please see section 4 below for more details.

f. Must not contain Popups. Links in the article must not activate popups when clicked.

g. Must not contain Javascripts or iFrames. Javascripts and iFrames in any form are not allowed.

h. Must not violate any Laws. Articles submitted must not infringe on trademarks, copyrights and anything that is against the Law.

3. Article Format

A. Title

  1. The article title must be in initial caps.

  2. No Author or Website Name is allowed in the title or article body.

  3. No HTML tags are allowed in the title.

  4. Do not put a "period" or "full-stop" at the end of the title.

B. Body

  1. The article must be 300 words minimum and 3000 words maximum. The ideal article size to us is between 500 to 1000 words.

  2. Do not repeat the article title in the article body.

  3. Do not submit articles that are pre-formatted with excessive hard carriage returns such as articles that are preformated to 60-65 characters per line. The article text should flow continuously and wrap naturally. To effect a new line, hit the "Enter" key once; to effect a new paragraph, hit the "Enter" key twice to create a vertical white space.

  4. The following HTML tags are allowed in the article body:

  • Bold tag:
    <b> </b>
  • Italics tag:
    <i> </i>
  • Underline tag:
    <u> </u>
  • List Points tag:
    <li> </li> 

5. The following HTML tags are NOT allowed in the article body:

  • Paragraph tag:
    <p> 
  • Break tag:
    <br />
  • Image tag:
    <img src>
  • Font tag:
    <font> </font>
  • Header tag:
     <h1>, <h2>, <h3>, etc.
  • Horizontal Rule tag:
     <hr>

C. Author Name and Alternate Author Names

  1. Your Full Author Name
    • In order to submit your articles, you will first need to create your "Author Name". This serves as your public profile and identifies you as the author of the article.
    • The author name must comprise of a Full First Name and a Last Name (First Name and Last Initial, or First Initial and Last Name, or two Initials are not allowed).
    • We do not allow adjectives, nouns and other descriptors to be used as your author name.
  2. Pen Names
    • We only allow ONE member account per person. However, you may have unlimited "Pen Names" under your account. This situation will apply if you are an author assistant submitting articles on behalf of the authors.
    • The same Author Name conditions above shall apply to Pen Names.

You can create your Author Name/Pen Names by logging into your member's account.

D. Website Links (See Section 4 below for more information)

  1. Only a maximum of three links (active and inactive) of websites that you own, control or have an interest in, are allowed per bio box.
  2. Please confine the links to the resource box, period. No live links are allowed in the article body.
  3. Do not include the same link or url more than once.

E. Article Summary

  1. THIS IS IMPORTANT!
    Every article must have an article summary. This serves as the description meta tag for the page your article is on that will be submitted to the search engines.
  2. You may use the first paragraph of your article as the article summary if you do not want to take the time to write one.
  3. No blatant self-promotion is allowed in the article summary.
  4. No HTML in whatever form is allowed in the article summary.
  5. No Author Name, Company Name, Website Address and/or Email Address are allowed in the article summary.

4. Affiliate Programs

A. Affiliate Links

  1. Do not include any direct affiliate links in the article as it will be rejected.

    If you are promoting affiliate programs via articles (these must be articles that you have 100% sole ownership and copyrights), you will need to use your own website link(s) and redirect it to your affiliate website. The link(s) cannot be placed at the body of the article; it must be strictly confined to the author resource box.

  2. PLEASE! Do not submit articles that are owned and copyrighted by well known authors on the internet and substite the link at the resource box with your affiliate URL. These articles will be summarily rejected. Also, your account will be deleted if you are caught doing so.
